Conversations with Missy: Levi Hummon

Imagine after one month having your new single hitting one million streams on Spotify. That is definitely a cause for celebration for country artist Levi Hummon. The story behind the single "Stupid" proves to be one of Hummon's smartest ideas for a song yet.

As I sat with Hummon overlooking the famous "Batman" building in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, we discussed some exciting times in his career thus far. As if hitting one million streams on Spotify is not a huge success in and of itself, Hummon has also found himself on tour with the Eli Young Band until December 12, 2017. I asked Hummon if he had any memorable moments with the guys on tour and was immediately satisfied with his response.

Hummon has a refreshing and fun personality that translates into his songs effortlessly. Although it was heartbreak that brought the music within him to life, having a father who has written for artists such as Rascal Flatts and The Dixie Chicks has also left an imprint on this brilliant singer-songwriter. Hummon's father Marcus Hummon recently joined him for the CMA Songwriter's Series that took them to Europe and beyond bringing country music to the fans that were eager for more. As we talked about this particular trip, Hummon beamed with excitement as he described how different the fans were in their appreciation of it all and even chuckled at the language barrier between them.

As Levi continues his musical journey, he stays connected with fans and looks forward to putting on great shows for them. If you are not yet following Hummon on social media, please do it now. You will be glad you did. Do not forget to grab his latest single "Stupid" and watch our full conversation now for the full story behind it and more. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
