As our Tap Into Indie Series continues, I have the pleasure of introducing you to Audra McLaughlin. Many of you may already know her from her performance on NBC's hit television series The Voice (season 6). McLaughlin was on Team Blake and through her amazing vocal ability, landed herself in the finals.
While McLaughlin may not have won the competition, she definitely won over the hearts of many. Her stunning looks and powerhouse vocals draw the crowds in, but it is her captivating personality and stage presence that keeps them entranced. Leaving an audience yearning for more is what many artists strive for, though not all achieve it. McLaughlin definitely creates a desire for her fans that keep them coming back for more.
After her performance at The Heart Songs Corporation and Center Stage Magazine Independent Artist Showcase at Alley Taps during CMA Fest 2017, McLaughlin took the time to speak with me backstage. We spoke about her time on The Voice and how it has prepared her for what is next in her career. Grateful that her experience on the popular television series has given her some amazing opportunities, McLaughlin has not stopped forging ahead to further her career beyond the reality series.
We talked about memorable moments with fans, including those that have been inspired by her story of being bullied in school, social media, what it was like to be interviewed several times by The Voice, a mutual love of food, and I even shared a sinful recipe with her.
