Conversations with Missy: Amanda Jones

Coffee and good music are two of my favorite things in this world. I am always grateful when those two things become a part of my work as well. On June 22, 2016, I was fortunate enough to have a very fun and open conversation with the lovely Amanda Jones.

This Oregon-based pop singer began performing at local coffee shops at just 13 years old. With the exposure she was getting, Jones was able to grow her fan base through her social media, which led her to perform at bigger venues. Not only was this young artist gaining fans, she was developing personal relationships.

Her EP Brand New Day is filled with emotional lyrics and storylines. Her video for “Wait for Me Tonight” was well executed. During our conversation, I asked Jones about it as her emotional delivery was spot on and made me feel the story within the song. Listen to our conversation now to hear what she had to say.

We continued to discuss her performances and what it was like opening for the popular band R5. Some of you may not know about this popular group, but if you have a young daughter that watches the Disney Channel, chances are you have already heard their music. Ross Lynch and his 4 siblings make up the band R5. We spoke about Lynch and how nice he was to her along with how funny he was while joking around. This was definitely an exciting moment for Jones and her career. Opening for R5 was her first big concert performance.

Chatting about R5 led us to our “Fangirl Confessions.” As it turns out, Jones and I have fangirl crushes on some other Disney Channel stars. To hear which of the Jonas brothers has our hearts, you will need to listen to our full conversation.

For now, please go follow Jones on social media. Check out her website for all the latest music and show dates. Do not forget to send her a shout out too. Stay tuned for more from this rising star. ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
