Interviewing a new artist is always exciting. I never know if they will be nervous, quiet or excited. What I did not expect was for Genny Sokoli to be so professional. This remarkable young artist has a passion for her craft that is hard to ignore. Her excitement and joy for her journey are contagious. While speaking with her, I could not help but smile.

Sokoli has had this dream since she was five. She hails from a family of artists uniquely different from her. Her ability to sing with such emotion is what stands out to me the most. She makes you feel the story within each song as it is told. There is no doubt in my mind that her beautiful gift is why she has the level of support that she has from family and friends.

Freshly relocated to Nashville, Tenn., with her older sister, Sokoli is creating quite a buzz. Her social media platforms contain videos of her refreshing talent and has gained her a large fan base that is growing rapidly. We discussed her recent move to Nashville and what it has been like living in such a vibrant city. Watch our full conversation for more on her surprising move and what she has coming up in the future.

After speaking with Sokoli, I was left feeling elated for her and the success she will soon be enjoying. The music world is at her fingertips and I have no doubts she will soon be shaking up Nashville. For her very first on-camera interview, I was impressed by her display of professionalism. It is clear that being on camera does not intimidate this young artist. She engaged the camera with ease. I am grateful that she willingly agreed to allow Center Stage Magazine the honor of conducting her first interview. We will definitely be following this extraordinary talent and look forward to our next conversation.

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
