Conversations with Missy: Craig Wayne Boyd

Imagine auditioning for a reality television show with thousands of others. Imagine the feeling of knowing that you are just one of many talented voices. Would you let those feelings stop you from reaching for your dreams? Meet Craig Wayne Boyd. Craig won Season 7 of NBC's The Voice.

As you can imagine, I had a lot to talk about with Craig. He shared with me his experience on the show and what it was like being on #TeamBlake then #TeamGwen and back to #TeamBlake. I joked with him as we spoke about what it was like to be a yoyo-Yo. Listen to our full conversation to learn more about his experience on The Voice, including a fun fan question regarding Gwen Stefani and Craig's hair!

Not only does Craig have an outstanding voice, his work ethic is stellar. He is committed to working hard, giving his fans a great show with music they love and being a man his family can be proud of. Craig shared some of his personal struggles with me along with what it was like to perform 1,000 shows in just four years time.

Craig has gained a lot of fans during his music career.  They are affectionately called the Y'ALLERS, and he appreciates each of them. Watching him connect with his fans and share his personal life and blessings with them on his social media pages is truly remarkable and appreciated by many. Recently Craig even announced on Facebook that his family would be blessed with a new addition, a baby girl. The way he notified his fans was very creative and sweet. I had to ask him about it and whose idea it was to announce it so creatively. Center Stage Magazine would like to congratulate the Boyd family on the birth of Dakota Lynn Boyd! She was born on December 31, 2015, which just so happened to be Craig's 37th Birthday. Happy Birthday, Craig! She is beautiful.

For those of you who like to find out fun and random facts about artists, Craig has shared a few with us. Being from Southern California, I do not know a lot about food establishments in Texas. I noticed a post on his Facebook page comparing Whataburger and In-N-Out. I immediately felt inclined to know the story behind the post, so I asked. I am so glad I did. Go listen to our full conversation now for all this and much more. Craig is as genuine as they come and appreciates life. It was an honor to speak with him and I hope you enjoy listening to his stories as much as I did.

Please follow him on social media and download his music to add to your collection today! As always we have provided the links for all you NEW Y'ALLERS! ~Missy

About Missy Wolf

Missy Wolf Co-Founder, Editor, Journalist & Vice President of the American Country Music Association

From an early age I knew music and entertainment were in my blood. I have always been enamored with the idea of being in this industry, though I never wanted to be a front and center "Star". Taking the audience behind the scenes for up close conversations with the artists they love is where I want to be. Life in lyrics has always been my style, so as my favorite country artist Wade Hayes sings, I am living my life and chasing my dreams! Conducting interviews, meeting talented people and sharing stories and adventure are my passion. My new favorite hashtag is #iaskyouanswer, so stay tuned for more interviews, articles and adventures!
