CMA Fest Artist Spotlight: Mickie James
When you hear the name Mickie James, you cannot help but get excited. With six championships under her belt, this professional female wrestler seemed to have all she wanted. Wrong. Mickie James is much more than an athletic female that can defeat Madison Rayne in a steel cage match. She is also a Country Rock Star.
With a sassy attitude and edgy sound, Mickie James is exactly what country music needs more of. During our conversation, we spoke about her music style and compared it to Miranda Lambert. Mickie is a strong woman with a feisty side. After watching her video for "Someone's Gonna Pay", I knew there was an interesting story behind it. I was right. Listen as we discuss the details of that video, including who was in it and the parts they played.
In 2014, Mickie James became a mother to a beautiful son named Donovan. I asked her about her experience with music as a new mom and her response was so refreshing and inspiring to me. How does she balance motherhood with touring? Did she miss milestone moments? Is he being raised by a nanny so she can travel? Listen to find out how this remarkable woman balances motherhood with her career.
As a country artist, one of the biggest gigs you can perform at is CMA Fest, held in Nashville, Tennessee. It is no surprise that besides touring all over the world, Mickie found herself performing for huge crowds at quite possibly the largest country music festival in the world. Sharing the stage with big names, in front of thousands of people is no doubt exciting. Listen as she describes her experience at CMA Fest and find out if she will make a return appearance!
If this was not exciting enough for me to hear, Mickie and I started chatting about a radio show she is a part of called, Project Lips. Is there anything this woman cannot do? She is a superb example of how it is possible to have more than one dream and instead of choosing one, you choose which one you will accomplish first. I do not want to spoil this last part of our conversation, so please go listen now to find out all about Project Lips. This radio show is for a great cause and you definitely need to hear all about it. Listen and learn how you too can become a part of something great and help others. Thank you, Mickie, for all you do. We look forward to what you have in store for us next ! ~Missy
